Amusing Assumptions

So today there was a young boy of about 8 (Let's call him François) with his father. His dad was held up (looking at some art) and François wanted to move on. Just when he expected his dad to come... I came. Without looking he started walking down the hall with me, his 'father'. So we walked together down the hallway to the SAU together, him ahead of me by about a yard. I'm sure he could see that I was his dad and was right on his heels. As we left François' dad way behind and François showed no sign of waiting for him I made the connection that he thought I was his dad. Taking 2 large steps I walked up even with François, he realized all too quickly that I was a college student and not his father. He stopped dead in his tracks, spun around, and 'smoothly' returned quickly down the length of the hall to his father who was still waiting there oblivious.

I smiled. Kids are fun.
